Eastern Uni Games. Sydney Uni Strikes Silver - Again!

This year SUUFA sent both an Elite and Development team to compete (and party) for the 5-day tournament. The Development team, captained by Hayley Lambert and Janek Savage, did very well placing 8th out of the 13 teams. The Elite team, led by Phil White and Sarah Hammer, stormed through the competition and made it to the Final against Macquarie. Both teams were at their peak, but unfortunately, it was Macquarie that won the day, 10-6, taking out the gold. SUUFA came a respectable second and can’t wait to meet Macquarie again for a re-match!

Sydney Uni IV Wrap Up!

On the 29th of May, thirteen different university teams travelled out to the mud-splattered fields of Moore Park from as far as Canberra to take part in the Sydney Uni IV tournament. This year, many universities were able to gain the numbers in order to field two full teams, with Sydney Uni gaining enough interest to even submit three! As the teams battled it out on the muddy fields, Wollongong stole the win away from Newcastle, 6-5 at the end of the day. Sydney Uni Representative David Manescu was awarded the Most Valuable Male Player award with Geoa Geer from Macquarie Uni, taking it for the girls. UNSW 2 displayed on-field sportsmanship heads above the rest and was awarded the spirit award.
