Rep Squad Selected!

Well done to everyone who tried out for the Rep Squad/EUG. The standard was very high and selection was extremely difficult - there are many new players who demonstrate a lot of potential. A big thankyou to Nathan, Sarah and Ellie for taking their own time to assist with selections.

The Rep squad will attend additional training on Wednesday and Sunday, as well as compete in local tournaments and leagues.

Please keep in mind that this was only the initial selection for the squad - Nathan and I will be at Thursday training every week watching for people who are putting in 100% and are keen to develop, to be added to the rep squad. This will continue to happen all the way until the Australian Uni Games.

EUGs Trials!

Hi everyone,

Selection dates for the Sydney Uni Ultimate Representative Squad are as follows:

Wednesday 4th April, 6-8:30pm - The Square, Sydney Uni
Wednesday 11th April, 6-8:30pm - The Square, Sydney Uni

Please bring a light and a dark shirt, cleats/running shoes and a disc (you can purchase one at training on Thursday).

This squad is for anyone who wishes to take their Ultimate to the next level, even if you have only just started. You are only expected to know skills taught so far this semester, as long as you are determined to develop. From this group, the Eastern Uni Games team will be chosen later in the semester. I encourage everyone to show up - either way you will learn a lot of new things and have a fun time.

The squad will be expected to attend regular practice on Wednesdays (same time/place) as well as additional throwing/fitness sessions. We are also looking to enter squad members into some tournaments leading up to EUGs.

For more info about unigames check out http://www.unisport.com.au/Events/EUG/Pages/Home.aspx

Any questions please let me know.

Welcome Back!

Holidays are coming to an end and our uni classes are about to start but the good news is we can get back to playing a bit of ultimate every Thursday afternoon!

We have a lot going on during O-week. Starting off with a little something new …. International O-Day Demonstration Game! We’re hosting this open event on Tuesday 28th from 10:30am – 1pm at the Square with SUSF putting on a BBQ. Please RSVP either on our Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/239755452778963/ so we can get an idea of numbers.

In keeping with tradition, we will have our O-Week stall running from Wednesday 29th February– Friday 2nd March so come down, renew your membership and have a chat with our new recruits.  Our stall is in front of the law building on Eastern Avenue.

We will hold our Learn-to-Play session on Thursday the 1st March at the Square from 2-6pm with free pizza and drinks! It would be great to get as many of our returning members down for the  session  as possible to help our new members pick up the sport. Don't forget to then join us after for our first social of the year, the ‘SUUFA Classic’.

Look forward to seeing you at one (or all) of these events!
